Would love to get some feed back on what hotel might be best for 3 families with small children. Or would it be best to rent a house VRBO and what location??? Want to be near attractions and shopping. Is there a local news paper or realty agency that might handle house rentals? Thanks

For a large group like you have i think i'd rent a house.

it depends on where you want to stay, but i like the city of Coronado (across the bay from san diego) especially with kids.

it is a very small, safe, community especially for children. there are many community parks, a wonderful public library with activities for kids, a wonderful new community center with a great pool, a beach that was voted one of the top 10 in the country, wonderful restaurants, great for bicycling, a five minute trip by car over the bridge to the freeway and downtown san diego, about 10 minutes from the san diego zoo and old town.




The local paper is called the Coronado Eagle (I think), and check on line for real estate agents.

Coronado is one of the top vacation spots in San Diego.

Are there any good suite hotels in a good location for a family? Or Hotels with family programs?

I think the Catamaran Hotel in Pacific Beach would be the best place. On the bay, a block from the beach, restaurants and boardwalk. Also nice pool. If you want to economise I would suggest a house rental in Mission Beach. I live in Mission Beach and the families love it.

I think your best bet is to rent a house..
Mission Beach is an ok area and Penny Realty has some great beach rentals.
I am not a big fan of the Cat hotel and wish the Evans family would renovate the rooms for the price they charge but it is in a good location but MB/PB does have the 'party, college atmosphere'.
I don't know what your budget is and if you can let us know that would help.
