san diego lodging opinion
 

we're planning a long weekend to san diego and our choice of hotel is either Paradise Point or Humphrey's Half Moon Inn & Suites. I've been on trip advisor and there seem to be more positives for Humphreys than PP.

Any opinions?

You might also look at Kona Kai - formerly the Shelter Pointe Hot and Marina on Shelter Island. A bit better location than Humphrey's.
We stayed there rather than either PP or HHM.

Paradise Point is going through a major renovation and somewhat removed but a blast in the summer when you can rent boats from their dock or water ski. Humphrey's is a great place and can be hit or miss on the rooms but location is great and they have summer concerts on the bay..
Mikemo recommendation for the Shelter Pointe resort is nice and you can usually get some good deals on Expedia..
Bay Club Hotel on Shelter Island is a good deal..
Have you thought of La Jolla?
When are you coming to SD?

we'll be going at the end of march. i checked out paradise point and the renovations. we'll knock that one off.

I stayed at Paradise Point for several days last year and loved it. I would return.

Great resort in a great location ... we walked to PB.
