San Diego in February?

Is Feb a good time to visit - do people swim then or is it too cold? Thank you....

Too cold for swimming. February is one of the rainiest months in California. I'd wait for a few more months.

Way to cold for swimming. Depending from where you are coming from would depend on whether you think it is cold weather wise. Crowds would be at a minimum. A good time for the areas tourist attractions. I would forget the beach though.

I would think it would be a good time for strolling on the beach though - as long as it's not raining.

My husband and I are going to SD in February for a wedding. It looks like the average high temp is about 65°F and the average low is about 45-50°F with an average of 1 1/2" of rain.

Swimming is out in February. We're experiencing an El Nino effect this year, so the rain levels are up (thankfully after last year's big drought!). They're predicting heavy rain in the next few months. Yes, there are no crowds, but it's one of our worst weather months. There are just so many nicer times of year to visit.

Being from Gulf Coastal Florida I find San Diego is ALWAYS too cold for swimming!
The Pacific just never really warms up compared to GC Florida.

I'm heading to SD in Feb for 2 wks. I will be coming from Alaska, so anything is warm for me at this point. Swimming is out. Too cold unless you wear a wetsuit. Plan on taking some light clothes but things that can be layered.

Have fun.
