My husband and I are looking for a hotel in the San Diego area on the beach - any suggestions?

The world famous Del Coronado.

The Pacific Terrace, in the San Diego beach community of Pacific Beach.

We stayed at the Hyatt. Make sure to ask for a waterview room. The service was impeccible.

Another vote for the Pacific Terrace Hotel. Right on the beach and upscale.

The Hyatt is not on the beach.

The Del and Pacific Terrace consitently get good reviews. They are in completely different communities. Also in Pacific Beach are the Ocean Park Inn and the Surfer Beach Hotel. In La Jolla, the Sea Lodge is right on the each at La Jolla Shores. Also consider L'Auberge Del Mar in Del Mar. Not right on the beach, but just across the road.
