Thanks for the additional suggestions. I'll check those out!
As for the price, I guess I'm hoping to find a deal through Expedia and therefore not pay the normal rate. I know $150/night might be pushing it, but we'll see. I never thought travelling with a child would entail so much extra research! A few years ago, my husband and I would have booked something online after about 15 minutes of thought. How things have changed! :) |
There are a number of less expensive hotels in Coronado.
Pacific Beach is a great place (I live just up the road from PB), but you will be in the heart of the beach area, and will have some transients and a lot of college students hanging out in the bars at night. Also Mission Blvd / Garnet Ave are very busy streets. I would try to get a less expensive hotel in Coronado. You can walk and bicycle around the small town, they have beautiful parks, and a lovely municipal swimming pool, at the beautiful Glorietta Bay you can rent little paddle boats, and the beach is world class and very clean. It is a upscale residental area and not quite as touristy as Pacific Beach. |
This is not in La Jolla, but it is a great family friendly hotel with a pool on the bay and near the beach and Belmont Park (with the roller coaster) and very close to SeaWorld: The Bahia http://www.san-diego-hotels-resorts....-san-diego.php
