San Diego giant squids?

We are about to head to San Diego beaches for boogie boarding. I hope some of the locals can advise whether boarders are encountering any of the giant squids.

The squid were in La Jolla when we were there last week but I did not hear anything about them on other San Diego Beaches.

I believe the scientific conclusion was that they beached themselves not because of any earthquake but rather El Nino - warmer currents.

Don't worry about the squids, it is highly unlikely you'll see one. I go to the Carlsbad beaches every weekend and it doesn't cross my mind. If you are concerned, head to another beach instead of La Jolla, where the red squid were seen.
