San Diego dining

My husband and I always stay in little eating and eat around there. We are meeting a friend who will be there next Sunday..she's flying in from ny....we are driving down form LA. Our hotel is in little Italy...she is staying at then mission Marriott. Where she we dine on Sunday night. Not crazy expensive...but a decent place. I am only familiar with little Italy....but is there any great places to dine at closer to her hotel.....or a half way meeting point. Any suggestions would help..thanks

Her hotel is inland by the freeway, not appealing.. She should take the trolley or a taxi to meet you in Little Italy.

There are a ton of places in Little Italy, like Bencotto mentioned above, or Ironside if you want to go for some tasty fish. http://www.ironsidefishandoyster.com/

We also had a great meal at Bencotto a couple of years ago.
