San Diego cruise & airport parking?

In January, we will be driving to San Diego to board a cruise ship. We will need to park our car for 7 nights in a public lot. (We don't want a hotel with long-term parking because we are staying with friends.) It seems as if many of the lots offer airport and cruise parking in the same lot, but how does that work with their shuttles? Does every shuttle go both to the airport and to the cruise terminal?

I'm interested in any comments or recommendations on the handiest long-term parking for cruises. Thanks.

There is a large public parking lot immediateky across from the cruise ship pier. Someday (!) it will be hotels and office towers, but it will still be there when you arrive. It is a 2-minute walk to the entrance to the pier.

Hi Pipp,

There are a some different companies offering airport and cruise parking using the same lot. This just comes down to commercials and a lot being sub leased to different companies. Regarding shuttles, the main business is airport parking. This demands shuttles 24/7 as flights are coming and going all day. However with cruises, its a lot easier and It is a small matter of organising some shuttle at specific times of the day. Really there is only ever one cruise ship leaving a day and in San Diego its more like one a week. Anyway, if you want a recommendation, http://www.portparking.net/port/port...o-parking.html is a good choice. Hope this helps!

Look for the sign that says "Cruise ship only parking".

Honestly, that's what the sign says.

Have you left for your trip yet? I use longtermparking.com for cruise and airport to find lots. They also have coupons that save you either a little or a lot off the regular price. It looks like the San Diego port doesn't have their own parking, but there are three lots mentioned at the website I typed above.

Have fun on your cruise. We've sailed out of San Diego and had a great time!
