San Diego car rental

I have been trying to find the best car rental rate for an upcoming week long visit to San Diego and am deciding between two companies I have never heard of before: Autorent rental and Fox rental. Does anyone have any opinions, experience or advice? Thank you!

I have not heard of either one however the best rate we found on the last two visits were through NWA. We got a car at about a 30% discount than we were quoted directly. Both times were national brands so these two maybe alright but it also maybe worth a look thru the airline.

I have used Fox Rent A Car <http://www.foxrentacar.com/> several times at the John Wayne Airport in Orange County (CA) and was completely satisfied each time. I think one of the ways they save you money is by having an off-airport location, but with a free shuttle, this is a minor concern. I would definitely rent from them again.

I have never heard of these car rental in SD and with a weekly rental, there are some great deals here but I would go with someone who is national..
I have seen the sketchy car rental companies off of India/kettner and I don't care how much I save, they are dogs!
Hotwire.com has great deals.

Agree with TahitiTams try www.hotwire.com
Used them this in November when visiting San Diego to see our son and got a great deal, saving us major $'s. We were placed with Hertz - excellent service.

On our previous visits rented thru other major car rental companies but paid much more than we did using the hotwire site.

Just wish we had known about hotwire sooner.
