San Diego buffet restaurant near beach/ocean
Well, it's a long shot that I'll get an answer to my quesion, but I thought I'd try.
I had been to San Diego a few years ago. I remember a restaurant which was in a hotel overlooking the beach and ocean. The hotel was walking distance to the Gaslamp area. The buffet was themed and the theme changed every day, ie, Monday was prime rib night, Tuesday was a seafood buffet, etc. Does anybody know the name of the hotel/restaurant? Some friends are going to San Diego and I'd like the name of the hotel and restaurant to give them. Thanks in advance. |
Also, I remember the hotel was virtually next to Seaport Village.
Thanks again. |
it has to either be the Hyatt Regency or the Marriot Marina Hotel those are the only 2 right next to seaport village. But you are not overlooking the beach and ocean, you overlook the harbor.
|
Isn't there an Omni Hotel right there as well?
|
The Omni is not right along the harbor

Thanks, joeyi and techoiniere. I have looked at the websites for the hotels mentioned. It's the Hyatt that I had been to, unfortunately, things have changed since I was in San Diego and they only seam to do a seafood buffet once a week now.

I'm going to San Diego next week and would like to have dinner in a decent restaurant. I need to invite some people but I don't know San Diego restaurants at all. You mentioned Hyatt and it sounds good to me but I'm afraid my guests might not like sea food (some people just dont and it's to risky for that particular ocasion). I found a list of San Diergo restaurants at
http://www.bestmealdeals.com/region/...ego-san-diego/ Could you recommend something? le Fontainbleau At The Westgate Hotelsound interesting to me and I wonder if anyone could give me a short review of this place. Thanks a lot! |
Grant Grill at the US Grant Hotel is lovely and wonderful food..
Le Fontainbleau at teh Westgate Hotel is very French and very good..pricey. Roy's for Hawaiian is really good and they have the 3 course $35 prix fixe menu..bayfront Gaslamp JSix at Hotel Solamar with the rooftop lounge is excellent Donovan's in the Gaslamp for excellent steaks Lou & Mickeys..great steaks..Gaslamp Fish Market..Top of the Market upstairs..excellent Omni Hotel has McCormicks and Schmicks..great happy hour |
I would second a few of ksucat's recommendations:
JSix at Hotel Solamar (they do a lot of organic, locally grown foods) - the chef has gotten rave reviews & which are well deserved. Fish Market is fun because it's reasonably priced & is right on the bay. I like the Fish Market because parking is easy and again it's on the water. |
