San Diego, Birthday Restaurant Suggestion Needed

I will be travelling on business to San Diego and my husband will be joining me. He will be celebrating his 52nd birthday and we need a wonderful restaurant - good wine, preferably a upscale steak house. Can you help? Much thanks....

Donovan's - expensive and great. In the University Towne Center area, across the road from the shopping mall.

One of the best choices in San Diego would be Lou and Mickey's located downtown in the Gaslamp District. They specialize in steaks and seafood and have an extensive wine list. If you are into that kind of thing, there is also a Morton's.

Haven't tried the others, but we really enjoyed Greystone the Steakhouse in the Gaslamp district. It sounds like just what you're looking for. Here's their website:

Another vote for Lou & Mickeys (www.louandmickeys.com).

Even 'tho I'm now 60, I would be delighted to go to Thee Bungalow for my 50th.
Great wine list, and broad Euro menu.
