San Diego Beaches - different suggestions

Hi! My best friend and I (two 29year old women) are going to SD this weekend. We are pretty overwhelmed on the beach choices. Can you help us out?

If we wanted to go to a beach that was active, and had bars walking distance from it which beach would you suggest?

If we wanted to go to a beach that was just simply gorgeous and quiet and peaceful, what would you suggest?

If we wanted to go to a beach with a picnic area on site what would you suggest?

HELP! Thanks so much!

1.Mission Beach or Pacific Beach

2.Most of them are gorgeous, but not really quiet and peaceful unless the weather's cool!

3. Del Mar (15th Street)Beach has a lovely grassy area adjacent to the beach. I'm not sure if there are BBQs if that's what you're looking for.

1) Mission or Pacific
2) Coronado beach at about "G" avenue. Go at sunset and sit up on the seawall. there are benches along the top
3) La Jolla. Picnic up above the cove.
