san diego beach hotel
reposted with correct title
hi...looking for a moderately priced beachfront hotel for my 17 year old daughter and myself. we are looking to travel in april and would like to stay under $150 per night. i saw a few places that were asking $70 per but that price scared me into thinking there must be something wrong. i had such good luck on this site planning my italy trip i came back for help this time! |

Have a look on www.sandiego.org the official tourist information web site. Click on where to stay and then choose beaches to get an idea of what is available. A few years ago we stayed at The Ocean Park Inn www.oceanparkinn.com and enjoyed it. Hotel is directly across from the beach and is quite a lively area so your 17 year old daughter would probably like it. The rooms higher up and facing the ocean are worth the extra $'s. Breakfast is included in the rate but I believe you now have to pay for parking. $70.00 a night in San Diego would be a dump. Good luck and come back with more questions once you narrow your choice down. Sandy |
i have narrowed my choice down to diamond head inn on pacific beach...$107 per. trip advisor has decent reviews. anyone have any first hand experience with this place?

We liked Scripps Inn in La Jolla very much.
IMO, La Jolla is the most attractive area in greater San Diego. And Scripps Inn is on the waterfront, very close to children's pool where the seals live. From the hotel rooms, you see and hear the waves. And it is reasonably priced. http://www.scrippsinn.com/ |
We are staying at the "La Jolla Shores"...it's really nice, but don't think you can get in under 195...might be worth a call.
