San Diego - Am I Crazy?

I am leaving for San Diego on Saturday for a short 4 day visit. I am coming from the frozen tundra of Minnesota and can't remember what 55-60 degree weather feels like. Would I look like I'm crazy if I wear capris and sandals? Would people point and laugh? I would hate to come to Southern Cal and continue to wear the winter attire.

Hi..
They say rain on Saturday but I say layers...you won't look crazy if you had your capris and sandals as long as it isn't pouring rain..
I wear capris with a sweater all the time with my sandals..
It does get cold at night but me saying that to a Minnesotan probably wouldn't compute..
Have a great time here...you are going to love it!

You'll be fine with capris and sandals. I was there a few weeks ago, and lots of people were wearing them, including me!

I was just there last week with my family. I am from Alaska, and I can relate to the excitement of temps over 40 degrees!
We flew in to San Jose, then gradually worked our way down the coast to San Diego. I brought cotton pants and light sweaters, which was perfect.
While on Coronado and during the day, it was warm enough not to require anything more than a light sweater or jacket. I am climatized for the cold, so everything felt pretty comfortable. A leather jacket or blazer of some sort might work. Lots of gals wearing boots, both knee high with jeans or the shorter type. Remember a good walking shoe too. Enjoy! J.

Kids were flip flops and shorts all year long but... very likely going to pour Sat and Sun with a high of 59-60 and only 64 or so the rest of next week. And since it is so close to the water, it can be chilly. We are getting our "winter" a little late this year - we had our only freezing weather this month. But then again, it isn't Minnesota cold and we were summer clothes all year long. So if you will be warm enough, go for it! Enjoy your visit!

It's been unseasonably cool in CA these past couple of weeks. Bring your capri's but also long pants, closed toe walking shoes, and a couple of lomg sleaved shirts. Hopefully it will warm up next week.

Nobody will "point and laugh", but you may not be comfortable. Capris, OK, but at least wear some socks with your sandals or closed shoes. Leave your winter gear behind, but, as someone else said, be prepared to dress in layers.

We are on the northern CA coast right now and two days ago it rained, hailed, sleeted and SNOWED. I couldn't believe it !! Be prepared. Bring a rain coat.

This is California - you have to look really weird before anyone will laugh and point at you ;)

Wear whatever is comfortable to you - that is what we all do here. If it is warm enough for capris and sandals, that is what we wear. But it has been rainy and chilly, so bring long pants and a jacket too.
