What resorts would you recommend in San Diego? I like 4 star or better. Thanks

Last week my daughter and I spent 2 nights at the Hotel del Coronado. We loved it. There had been a storm 3 days earlier, which closed the beach (contamination from run-off) and it was still quite windy. We did sit on the beach anyway and it is very nice, the largest beach area we saw on the trip. Our room was great, staff at the resort were friendly (except for a snobby French waiter), and we enjoyed walking around downtown Coronado.

I had the good luck to stay at the 4 Seasons Aviara in northern San Diego county once, and I was spoiled forever!<BR>(now, if I could only afford to go back...)

Definetly the hotel del coronado, the island is beautiful, the hotel has so much history and they have gold in the sand! :-)

I toured the Coranado and then wish we had stayed there. We really enjoyed our stay at the Pacific Terrace, but the setting is so much nicer at the Coranado. It is an older hotel, but the atmosphere is great, beach area and pool area are wonderful. If price is not a factor, Coranado all the way.

If you can afford the Hotel Del Coronado, stay there! It's a truly historic, gorgeous hotel, in a beautiful setting, and how many places can you stay where they filmed one of the greatest movies of all time-- &quot; Some Like It Hot&quot;? And the rest of San Diego's treasures are a short hop away from Coronado Island. Enjoy your visit!
