San Diego - Enterprise Rent a Car?
I am trying to make a car reservation for Thanksgiving week and have found the prices are sky high in San Diego that week. Enterprise seems to have a way better price than any of the other rental agencies but they are "off site" of the airport. Has anyone recently used them when flying into SAN? I just wondered if it was any more of a hassle than any of the others. I tried to call them directly but no one answered the phone. Maybe that's a bad sign right there.
Thanks for any input.

Funny you should ask. I've had Enterprise cars twice in San Diego First time 2 years ago was "okay" but car was sort of beat up.
2 weeks ago, my sister rented from enterprise. The first car was Awful! Dirty, manual windows, no CD playerand noisy muffler. Only car left on lot though. After 2 days we brought it back and exchanged for a better one, but still pretty poor..last years model, manual windows, no CD, scratches in the paint, and smelled musty. This was a midsize.
All the SD rental places are off site, so that shouldn't be an issue. Have you tried Alamo's web site? Or call them and ask for a Costco discount. It is usually way better than AAA discount, and Alamo's cars are nice. Usually service is fast, but ocasionally the lines are long, so try to sign up for the new express service. I rent 4 or five times a year in SD, and although I shop around, I usually alway find the best price a ALamo.

I don't know about Enterprise and the airport as I live in San Diego. However, whenever I need to rent a car while mine's being serviced I use Enterprise and have always had clean, new cars with hardly any miles on them. I have used two different locations, but not the one that would service the airport.
