san antonio visit

I have planned a trip to meet my daughter in San Antonio over Christmas. My daughter is flying in from Tenn. and I will be coming from Boston (Dec.23-28). We're staying at the Hotel Contessa. Will there be any Christmas activities on the river walk? I'm also wondering if everything will be closed Christmas day.
Any information would be greatly appreciate.

We visited SA right after Christmas one year. They host a college bowl game and the city was PACKED the whole time we were there. We thought we'd try to ride a boat on the river during the game, but we still had to wait in a long line. Wall to wall people. If I were you, I'd do your River Walk and Market touring before Christmas.

The Alamo Bowl will be on December 30, so you should be early enough to miss most of the crowds.

Yes, most things in San Antonio are closed on Christmas Day. (We were lucky to find a Sonic open for lunch when we flew in on Christmas!) Some of the bigger hotels have nice buffet meals, though...
