San Antonio hotels?

We will be going to San Antonio in July and are looking for recommendations for hotels under $100 with a pool and near main attractions.

Which "main attractions"? The Riverwalk is probably the Main Attraction. There are plenty of hotels on the Riverwalk. The best being the Westin Riverwalk, and the 2 Marriotts - Rivercenter and Riverwalk.

Are you (or your other half) government (fed, city, state) employees? If so, the all three have great government rates under $100. If that's not a special event week, you could score a really nice room for about $80.

Val-
There are several options - Holiday Inn Market Square, Four Points Sheraton, Radisson Market Square and others showed up when I did a search on the site www.usarooms.com, all under $100 (maybe a bit more when you add taxes)
Pools are outdoors, so may or may not be usable depending on when you plan to visit.

Avoid the Crockett Holiday Inn no matter what the cost. We were there this month and had a very bad experience. Rooms in the "new" section are small, dirty, damp and dark. Rooms in the "historic" section are cleaner but very small. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Pool and hottubs were not at all clean. talked to other people that week who left there after the first night.

Amerisuites on the southern part of the Riverwalk. Stayed there in November. Very short walk to main part of Riverwalk. Good location, good breakfast, good size rooms. We got a rate of $69.

Val,

If you go to the Six Flags Fiesta Texas web site, you can find a phone number to get a discounted rate at San Antonio Marriotts. We will be in S.A. 7/13-7/19 and we booked the Marriott Riverwalk for 99/night. Thought about paying more for some other hotels but think I will stay put. Good luck.

I stayed at the Durry Inn and suites, its on the riverwalk, which you should stay on, close to everything, good places to eat, etc. Have fun it will be very hot then. Betty
