dcespedes! ROFLMAO!! To carry that one step further, look what you have to do to affix it to your luggage. brahahahaha
Great shots Marilyn. I especially love the shot of Liberty Grill--bet they'd buy it! DH was jealous of Phil Flash's equipment. (LOL) We could turn this into a totally off-color thread now Ms decespedes. See what you started?
Scarlett, you know he's way too chicken to show his face despite Seamus' sweet invitation. Heaven forbid he establish a permanent record of himself anywhere on a particular time and date!! It's way too hard to keep up with that factual stuff..."oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to ....etc etc etc

OO, tell your DH (who really is a dear!) that he saw only the tip of the iceberg of Phil's equipment. You have no idea. (I would put an icon here, but I'm not sure if it should be a grin or a sad face.)

He mentioned the number of just his 3D cameras so I can't imagine how many others there must be!!! His 3D shots were incredible--he and his cameras deserve a smiley face for sure.
The evening was such a pleasure! I was happy to be able to show DH that despite the occasional oddball, most Fodorites are pretty neat people. More often than not, it's the weird threads from here that I repeat and he was beginning to get the impression that the entire board was a little...off.

The evening was indeed a pleasure. I couldn't get my husband to go, and he thinks it's really weird that I go to GTG's with people I met on the internet. When this subject came up Thursday night, it turns out many of us have friends or loved ones who think it's strange to meet people on the internet. I have thought about posting a thread to ask just how many Fodorites have loved ones who are bothered by this.

OK..."a lot", dcespedes. LOL
I agree P_M...a good topic for a post. One of my Fodors friend's kids gave her a hard time about meeting us the day we were getting together. ("Mom, you're meeting people you met on the Internet?!") If I'd been thinking I would have blackened a few teeth and put on some ratty clothes for our evening GTG with them!!! LOL Actually, if the truth be known, it's the people with tasseled loafers you really need to watch out for, and that is the truth! :-"

Great photos, Marilyn! Thanks for sharing them.
I am just now getting a chance to look at them since my net connection at work is much faster than at home.
Looks like everyone had a wonderful time.

Sorry to be a few days behind but we just returned from Mexico last night. Thanks to all who ventured out for the first SA GTG - it was terific to have conversations in 3D!
Thanks, too, to all who posted photos - though it remains a mystery of the universe how all of you managed to use the same kind of lens that subtracted my hair and added 30 pounds...
And thanks to Fodors for supporting this craziness by sending along the Fodors luggage tags. And about their shape - what would you expect for a group of folks who spend an evening with people they met online??

Great photos Marilyn and dcespedes!
P_M, my first solo trip to Africa was arranged by a guide that I met over the internet after being introduced by a lady I met on the internet. Yes, everyone thought I was nuts to fly 10,000 miles to be met at the airport by a stranger (that had been introduced by another stranger) to be my transportation for 2.5 weeks.
