San A. Hotel -Location,Location,Location
 

We will be in S.A. with two teenagers and found great deals on the Riverwalk at both the Westin and the Hyatt. Suggestions as to which would be the better choice in terms of easy access to shops, restaurants, etc.? Thanks.

Both are good choices. The Hyatt is closer to the River Center Mall, by only 2 short blocks.

Both are close, the Hyatt a bit more in the thick of things, but the Westin isn't far off and is shiny and new. My guess is that Hyatt's rate might be a little lower. Is there a significant difference?

Same price for each. Which would be safer for teens walking around at night, or is it all the same?

they are both wonderful hotels but i always recommend the westin over any other hotel on the river. it's about 2 yrs old and the hyatt is at least 15 yrs old. the hyatt's location is probably more lively; maybe that's why i prefer the quieter part where the westin is. your kids should be fine at either place; you will love the westin.
