Salt Lake City, Cedar Breaks, Bryce in 3 days?
 

We are going to be in Salt Lake city later in September and have reserved a place to stay in Cedar City over a Saturday and Sunday evening heading back to SLC late Monday.
We planned on seeing Cedar Breaks and Bryce during our time there. Also interested in Navajo Lake and Kolob Canyons. Is there an efficient way to see some great things, do a couple of nice hikes and not be totally fried in this short amount of time?

According to Google map it's a 500 RT from SLC to Cedar City, and a 240 RT from Cedar City to Cedar Breaks and Bryce. Do you really want to drive that much in one weekend?

Although it is a lot of driving, that's the plan.
Want to take it slow, find some great sights along the way and see what we can see.

I'll be there with my daughter this weekend and we have a jam packed itinerary.

We're starting and ending in Las Vegas.

On the day we get there we're driving to Escalante (5 hours). We'll stop in St George to pick up some supplies. We'll stop at the Zion Park Kolob Canyon, do the scenic drive and maybe walk a short hike.

If we really get out of LV quickly we might stop in Valley of Fire for an hour or so.

Our first full day is packed. We'll start in Devil's Garden Escalante to wander around the the rock formations then on to Lower Calf Creek Falls. We'll drive a bit of the hairy Rte 12 if the part between Escalante and LCCF is tame. Then by early/mid afternoon we'll head back west towards Bryce Canyon and go south of Cannonville to hike the Willis Creek slot canyon (maybe go over to see Gosvenor Arch) hike Mossy Cave in we're in the mood. We can walk along the rim between Sunset & Sunrise Points.

On the second day we'll (maybe) get up early to see the sun rise at Bryce Point and after grabbing some breakfast we'll hike down Navajo Loop and up Queens Garden. If we didn't drive over to Natural Bridge the day before we'll do it now. Depending upon our timing we'll drive over to Cedar Breaks and do the scenic drive with a few stops. I'd like to continue on near Navajo Lake and do the short Cascade Falls hike. From there head down to Zion and do the Canyon Overlook hike. We could have an issue with timing here as I'd like to finish this hike by 4-5PM at the latest. If possible do the Riverside Walk.

On the third day I'd like to try Angel's Landing until Scouts Lookout (NO FURTHER!!!!). Then depending on how we feel maybe Emerald Pools. Then head back to LV to sleep over and catch a flight back home.

Am I crazy? My style is that I definitely do not rush. I see a lot, take my time and enjoy what I see. However, I'm non-stop.

My friend and I are taking 4 kids down to Zion in October--leaving on Friday morning and coming back Sunday. It can be done. Don't forget that the speed limit on I-15 south of Spanish Fork is usually 75 mph and this spring there were good stretches of 85 mph and not a heck of a lot of traffic (not always guaranteed though). So its only about 5 hours down to St George.
