Salt Lake City
We are scheduled for a convention in Salt Lake City in several weeks. Our hotel has already been chosen by the company putting on the convention. I will have several days to experience Salt Lake City-- (I will not have a vechile to go outside the area) I will relie on the TRAX light-rail line. What can I find within this limitations to enjoy the BEST SLC. (resturants, shops, entertainment) thanks

The Gateway Mall has lots of good shopping, restaurants and movie theaters. You could go to a Jazz game, Utah Symphony, see a play at Capitol Theatre or Pioneer Theatre Company, and spend some time at Temple Square.

Thanks What resturants would anyone recommend?

You could also doing some shopping at Trolley Square http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolley_Square What about renting a car one day and spending the day in Park City. Does anybody have any knowledge of "Gastromy" or "The New Yorker" I saw these two resturants advertized in a magazine, but Foders does not mention the resturants in their list. Thanks
|
Gastronomy is a local restaurant group. The Market Street Grill is part of the group and The New Yorker. The New Yorker is a private club for members only. I think you can buy a temporary membership to a club for $5.00 which is good for a couple of weeks. Food at the Market Street and the New Yorker is wonderful. http://www.gastronomyinc.com/restaurants.html

check out salt lake magazine for referrals http://www.saltlakemagazine.com/

ohh...just thought of the Mikado downtown...great sushi and Japanese food. This restaurant has been there for at least 50 years...

We had a wonderful time. The New Yorker was fabulous. Enjoyed staying at Little America, loved our room in the tower. Great experience
