Sailport Resort, Rocky Point, Tampa

Has anyone stayed here? I'll be staying there 5 days on business. I've been to the adjacent Rusty Pelican and Whiskey Pete's many times but have never been on this property. Any experiences?

Stayed there last spring for 1 night - lots of loud, drunk, military guys who stayed up way late. And a couple of wedding parties too. Hallways are 'interior' but not enclosed - think motel with the hallway down the center instead of on the outsides and the bedrooms are on the hallway where all the noise is (the website does not even remotely reflect the place). There may be a less noisy 'wing'.... But, very convenient to the highways, etc. and cheap.

Actually the price my company is paying is the same as the Marriott - about $90 - so I'm really wondering if I should insist on not staying there. The entire place has been renovated in the past three months but I just have a bad feeling about it!

Honestly if someone else is paying and the Marriott is an option I'd choose Marriott. If you have issues you have multiple levels of management to take them up with. At the sailport they lock the reception area after ll and you have to be buzzed in....

Yeah, I switched to the Marriott for an extra $5 per day. More than worth it - I know I can relax there!
