Sailing San Francisco Bay
My wife and I will be in the Bay Area for a couple of days in early July. We've been to SF before and enjoy it but are looking for something a little different this time around. I was wondering if anyone has experience with any sailing cruises/tours/charters on the bay and might make some recommendations? Yes, I know it can be chilly but I think it would be a novel and interesting way to see the city. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I'll try "topping" this note in the hopes that someone out there has experience on tourist sailing on SF Bay...

Anyone? Thanks in advance...

There are lots to choose from. I did get to go on a true sail boat a few Fourth of Julys back - but ended up getting totally seasick for the first time in my life. Boy, I couldn't wait to get back into port.

That aside, there are some cool choices like the 1790s pirate ship (http://www.sf-escapes.com/pirate.html)

I have taken inlaws for a brunch cruise with pacific Marine Yachts (http://www.sighg.com/) and had a fine time.

You will see some spectacular views of the city from the Bay.

Good Luck.

Maybe the brunch cruise would be good enough... getting seasick would be a real downer. I guess it just depends on the weather as to how rough it would get.

Thanks for the links...

we went on a night dinner cruise with Hornblower. The food is never that great, the music to be avoided, but the view was beautiful.
