Sagamore

I have booked a room at the Sagamore for 4 nights in late June. What a steal- the first night which is a Sat. is $150 and Sun, Mon and Tuesday are $99 night. The hotel looks fabulous and location seem amazing (in between Delano and new Ritz South Beach). Should I be concerned with such a low rate. I must admit - the room category I booked has NO VIEW (i think there is a window that faces the side of the Ritz) - but I am willing to overlook that for the price. How often will I be in my room anyway. Also - the rooms are all suites - 600 sq. ft. w/kitchenette? How can you beat that. Anyone stayed here or have any suggestions. This is my 1st trip to South Beach.

THANKS!

Tracy: there are at least two Sagamore hotels/resorts in New England (not to mention the bridge over the Cape Cod Canal). People may think your question pertains to New England or Maine...

No No...The Sagamore Hotel is on Lake George in Upstate New York. President Nixon used to play golf there.

There's also one (or perhaps it's gone now) in Maine...

Tracy I am familiar with the hotel...check the reviews (which are mixed) on Tripadvisor.com. As for things to do in South Beach, do a search on this board and you will find numerous threads on the subject.

I stayed at the Sagamore in South Beach in May. The hotel was very nice, with free lounge chairs and towels at the beach. We had a room that faced the street. The staff wasn't very friendly, but we over looked this. That's a great rate you won't be disappointed.

Thanks m179!

I have heard alot about the staff being rude at this hotel - but for the price I can overlook that. Were you able to get into the lounge on the roof called A60? I heard its a members only club but was curious to see if its possible to get in if your not a member. I am excited about my trip and would rather spend my money going out to nice dinners and for drinks rather than paying the prices to stay at the Delano or Shore Club!
