Safety - Washington DC

How safe is the area of Washington DC on or near 4000 to 5000 Conecticut Avenue?

What is the nearest metro station called?

Thanks.

That area is very safe.

The nearest Metro stop is Van Ness/UDC - here's a map:

Very safe. 4000-5000 Connecticut is north of the National Zoo and is near the UDC-Van Ness campus. I believe the metro stop is called Van Ness/UDC.

It is principally a residential area. Small retail and large apartment buildings on Conn Ave, with single family homes on the cross streets. Safe and pretty quiet, but has everything you need-- drugstore, a few restaurants, good bus service in addition to Metro.

You are also close to the Tenleytown Metro station. I used to live near that area and used Tenleytown more than Van Ness/UDC. The area is very safe (as is most of Washington, D.C.)

Woodie, did you stay at the Days Inn on Connecticut in the Van Ness area? That's my neighborhood! We could've met for coffee!
