This original post is over a year and a half old!

Why are you dredging it up?

Because instead of starting a new post, I wanted to just add to all of this information already given so others could read it all at once. I think people can benefit from safety issues anytime don't you?

E.J.:

Having lived in Atlanta nearly all my life, I can assure you that you will be fine in Buckhead. Yes, it now attracts a more diverse crowd than it once did but the few problems I've heard of are very isolated.

Having visited Philly's City Center myself a number of times, I would say you'll be just fine downtown as well. It's like any urban area after dark. You have to be aware of your surroundings and be smart.

How is Buckhead 1 1/2 years later? Has it gotten better?

Considering the whole gangsta rap/hip- hop nonsense has been OVER in most of the country for over a year now, and considering that the south, Atlanta particularly, worships and copies everything that NYC does (and is a little behind the rest of the country), if it hasn't started to die down there yet, it will soon.

Thank you, T.M. That helps a lot with my peace of mind and decision making!
