Safe to visit Vegas in September?

Planning a trip to Las Vegas in September. I am getting a deal of 31 $ in Excalibur. Can I get a better deal? I am not a gambling person. What is or are must do / must see in Vegas? With the onslaught of the swine flu is it safe to visit Vegas? Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Wrangler.

What in heavens name does the swine flu have to do w/Las Vegas ?!

Yes $31 a night is a pretty good deal; Excalibur is not one of the top-notch casino hotels, but it is not the worst one, either. Do a search on Vegas at this site to find some suggestions about things to do. I am not aware of any swine flue issues relating to travel to Las Vegas -- it is more likely to show up at home, in schools, than otherwise, as far as I know.

If that is all you want to spend, Excalibur is a great deal. It is at the southern part of the strip.

I was just there 3 weeks ago. No more likelihood of swine flu there than anywhere else. Go up to the Fremont Street Experience. It's a nighttime activity. The light show starts at 9:30pm, I think. And, It's free, and there are all kinds of vendors, artists, musicians, etc. Carl "Safe Sax" Ferris is exceptional! There are plenty of free things to do. Try www.vegas.com. Going through the tons of hotels is fun too. Warning-the properties are HUGE, so take the tram as much as you can. Take lots of water too. There is a ton of construction on the Strip, so expect lots of traffic. It takes forever to drive from one end of Las Veag Blvd. to the other.

It is unsafe to visit Las Vegas on February 14.

Don't kiss any swine in Vegas and you'll be fine.

Actually Excalibur is about the worst strip hotel/casino.

Why are you going to Vegas if you are not a gambling person! and I agree with RBCal re Excaliber.

Where did you find the deal of $31 for Excalibur?

Don't be tempted by the low rate, there is a reason for it.

The Orleans had a large room with two queen beds and sitting area for $34.00 in June. It's off the strip but was a great deal.

Should have said July. Don't know if this is still available.

You don't have to be a gambler to enjoy Las Vegas. I don't gamble much, but I enjoy the craziness that is Las Vegas!I have stayed at Excalibur before. It's not the greatest, but it certainly isn't the worst either. As for Swine Flu..I imagine the risk is like anywhere else. Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands and just be sensible.

There's nothing wrong with the Excalibur. The rate is probably quite low because Vegas is hurting due to the downturn. And the market the Ex appeals to, is staying home. All the hotels are offering deals within their range. Have fun. And, as sharon62 says – wash your hands.

As far as location the Excalibur is at the south end of the strip. I believe the monorail comes by there, so you can walk up the strip and monorail it back. OR take the bus. Check out the hotels, go shopping, eat a little, people watch, put a quarter in the slots.
