Sacramento Sonoma Yosemite 7-day Itinerary
Putting together a 7-day Reno Amador Yosemite Sacramento itin seemed sort of easy but I need help with a Sacramento(round trip) Sonoma Yosemite trip, same amt. of time.
Is Sonoma area nicer to visit than Amador area? The Reno trip seems to be such a nice convenient circle but maybe Sonoma is not to be missed? Sure need your opinions here.

You have several threads about your trip and have received TONS of good info/advice/opinions.
I did think you had agreed Sonoma really doesn't fit in your short time frame?
The Amador wine region outside of Plymouth is a MUCH better fit for your plans.

Yikes, that's Memorial Day weekend at the beginning. You don't want to be in Yosemite on that weekend and both Tahoe and Sonoma will be jammed too.
Find a nice inn or B&B in Amador or Calaveras County and wait out the rush. You can take short drives to nearby wineries and attractions and it won't be too bad.
Or, if you are going to stay in Sacramento, do it that Saturday and Sunday night of Memorial Weekend. It won't be too bad in the city. Many of the locals will leave for the weekend.

Uh - Memorial Day weekend is the ONLY summer weekend that fills up in Sacramento. That is when we have the Jazz Jubilee. True - it is not the massive draw of years past when 100,000 attended. But still, hotels/motels in Sacramento will be pretty full and charging prime rates.

I forgot about the Jazz Jubilee. We have gone to it several times and have always had a good time. If the OP likes that kind of music, it might be another reason to stay in Sac that weekend.
If not, then that Inn in the Motherlode might be the best choice. By the way, there are great places to see and stay north of I-80 too. The Nevada City - Grass Valley area is one of our favorites.

I disagree about Tahoe being packed on Memorial Day. My experience is that it is stil not warm enough in Tahoe to bring in the boaters and usual lake crowd. Packed is an exaggeration of the condition. 4th of July is packed.

There are more boaters in August but during Memorial Day weekend the campgrounds and hotels are filled, the trails are jammed and the roads are gridlocked. The lake is not the only attraction - many come for the gambling and night life.
A lot of people don't realize how many people there are in California and underestimate the traffic on three day holiday weekends.
