Thought you might like to know how we fared in Sacramento and the Napa Valley Had one dinner at Biba's. Biba was there. Nice room, excellent service, very good food. 4 people $250 w/tax & tip. Well worth the price. Shared two specials - gnocchi and truffle ravioli 2 bottles of wine <$30 ea Colterenzio PG (white) Lungarotti Rubesco (red) Filet mignon, rack of lamb, grilled salmon, bollito misto (served only on Fri & Sat) Chicken breast, veal, beef, sausage, pesto & potatoes - very good flavors - moist and tender. Vanilla Gelato - not up to par Pear baked in Vino Rosso w/Toma cheese - Very good 3 coffees, 1 Frangelico 33rd St Bistro for bkfst. VG pizza, fancy egg sandwiches, blueberry pancakes - quite good Dinner at Pinot Blanc (St Helena) was very good. 4 people about $200 w/tax and tip Mussel appetizer was very good, as was the traditional French onion soup. Grilled tuna, warm duck salad, steak frites and a fois gras appetizer for main course. Bottle of Schlumber Pinot Blanc. Cheese tray was excellent 4 coffee |
I am soooo hungry now! I hate you Ira :)
Glad you had fun! Just don't tell anybody on the European board you had fois gras ;) |
Hey Ira,
So glad you enjoyed Biba's. Its one of our favorite places to dine. Next time you're in Sacramento try the Firehouse. Now that you've recommended it, I guess I'll have to try Pinot Blanc. |
foie gras is a big no-no! Please research...they force feed the geese through a feeding tube..it is not the same as in the past! You'll enjoy a nice mushroom pate much more ;-)

up, up little post!

Hi LL,
The fois gras was duck. They don't force feed the geese anymore, especially in California. :) |
