Sacramento - activities for 5 teenaged girls
Hi all,
Myself and a couple other adults are chaparoning 5 teenaged girls at the US Pony Club championships in Sacramento this July. We will have a free day while we are there and I would appreciate your suggestions for outings (water parks, amusement parks, good shopping, fun restaurants, etc). Thank you! |
There is a WaterWorld at Cal Expo - it is almost guaranteed to be HOT so this would be good. And Arden Fair Mall is less than a mile from Cal Expo so that makes a good combo. There is a Macys' Nordstroms, Virgin Mega Store, and all the usual suspects. Arden Fair is the best mall in Sac County - the only better one is the Galleria in Roseville. For discount shopping (also near Arden Fair/WaterWorld) there is a Nordstrom's Rack.
There are really no amusement parks - Miniature golf and that sor of thing but for a full blown park you'd need to go to Vallejo Marine World. And there is always Old Sacramento - Gold Rush era buildings along the river in downtown. Mostly touristy shops but a lot of restaurants. |
Cool. You going out to Rancho Murrieta's fine facilities? One of my co-workers is active out there.
There is a Hard Rock at D'town Plaza the kids like to hang at. The Otter water taxi may be a cool ride for them. Pick it up at Old Town and ride up the Sac River to Crawdaddy's/Chevy's for lunch or take a ride on the Matthew McKinley, mini-riverboat. William Land Park and the Zoo/Fairytale town (too old?) may work too. Good luck! Kal |
I love Land Park/Fairytale Town, but I think it is one of those things that little kids and adults think is great, but is too uncool for teenagers - LOL.

Thank you for these terrific suggestions!
