S. Lake Tahoe-getting to Squaw
 

I'm planning on skiing Heavenly this upcoming season and would love to ski Squaw. I'm wondering if it's possible to get to Squaw by public transportation or must I rent a car? Any recommendations as I'll be staying in South Lake Tahoe and really would love to see other areas around the lake. (Hate being held captive in one town.)

This is the website to answer your questions. I don't know if those shuttles, buses, trolleys will get you where you need to be, but the buttons on the left list all public transit serving S. Tahoe

Bluego appears to serve only South Lake Tahoe and the southern parts of the east and west shores. TART serves only North Lake Tahoe. Hopefully, someone will know if there is public transportation that serves both!

If you go to the Squaw website, you can find info on their shuttle buses. The price of the shuttle includes your lift ticket (I don't recall how much more the shuttle was than a lift ticket alone, but I seem to recall the bus fee is nomimal only - almost same price as lift ticket alone).

I believe there's only one departure time from the South Shore, getting you into Squaw around 9:20 a.m. or so (just going from memory).

Most of the larger ski places have shuttles that will run from the South Shore. The smaller places like Sugar Bowl do not.
