Ryan's Grill

Hi...I am leaving for Oahu next week (feels good to finally be able to say that!) and have read some good reviews on Ryan's Grill, I think it is in the Ward center (?).

Only problem is, I haven't been able to locate a website for them or any information such as a menu, etc.

I would like to know more about the restaurant, because a few people in our travel party are "picky" eaters...haha

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Ryan's is like a basic staple for people who like to go out. If we can't decide where to go, we usually say, "Hey, why not just go to Ryan's?" Their menu is similar to Kincaid's and Palomino as they are the same owner.

they have a variety of salads, pastas, sandwiches, and basic appetizers that you would find in any popular bar/eatery across the country. Here is a link to their menu.

p.s. when you go to the website, sign up for their dining club. They will send you a coupon that you can use while you are here.

Thanks so much for all the replies.....they were very helpful.

I am getting so excited to go now that I can barely think straight....

Any other restaurant ideas along the lines of Ryan's would be very much appreciated.

Thanks so much.....

Brew Moon is also a good option. We had a great dinner there last weekend, hadn't been there in a while - did not dissapoint.

Just out of curiousity: why would you travel all the way to Oahu to dine at a place that you could find at many places on the continent (and pay less for a meal, at that)?

As I believe I stated in my original post, it is because the person I travel with likes basic food and is not very adventurous with food choices.

We decided to split half of our restaurant choices with Hawaiian cuisine or so-called "adventurous" restaurants of my choosing, and the other half would be basic food that my travel partner would be happy with.

We made a compromise so that we both would enjoy our trip, OK?

You're right, I missed that entirely; sorry!

I second Melissa's suggestions; Ryan's and Palomino Bistro have developed their formula quite nicely.

Melissa, how would Tiki's fit in as a cultural excursion for this group?

MelissaHI Oct 7th, 2003 11:28 PM

Elizabeth, please let me apologize on my brother's super analytical behavior. I hear it in person all the time! :D He is actually a jolly guy, usually.

Tikis is in the Aston Waikiki Beach on Kalakaua and the chef is formerly of Palomino, so the style of food is similar with a tropical twist. Very popular and good ambience (esp for lunch).
