RVing Yellowstone

Taking grandchildren to Yellowstone/Teatons the second week in July. Will pick up 27' RV in Salt Lake.
We are familiar with Yellowstone but stayed in cabins, as they are nearly 100% booked we we take the RV route. I have a boat which is pretty much an RV environment /equipment. We may? also have a SUV following us with one set of parents.

Early plan/day:
SLC to W Yellowstone RV park--Wildlife park/Haden Valley then to Canyon
Canyon RV park--hikes, falls, etc
Canyon to Lamar Valley/Roosevelt cookout, horses Pm to Gardiner RV park
Madison or W. Yellowstone RV park
Old faithful to Grant RV
Old faithful/ stay at Grant RV
Riverbridge area(at sun up)-pm open-then back to Grant
AM to Teatons and Collier RV park
Teaton area to jackson hole(Aberson or Montpelier Creek KOA
SLC return,

I hope the gas prices remain low. Since you are entering through West Yellowstone, fill the tank(s) in Idaho Falls or Rexburg. Top off in West Yellowstone.

TomFuller - thanks for the gas tips. My timing to rent a RV gas guzzler could not be better.

Looks like a great trip. Do pick up snacks, drinks, fruit, etc. soon after you pick up the RV. There is not much in Yellowstone that isn't pricey and kids do like to graze. Also fill the gas tank any time it gets below a half, stations can be quite far apart.

Having a SUV will make it much easier to find parking spots when you want.
