RVing in Arches National Park
My husband and I would like to park our RV in Arches National Park. It looks like there is not an actual RV parking area. We've never been to Arches and my research shows that parking is very limited in the park. I think we'd prefer to overnight in the park and enjoy the views rather than stay overnight in Moab. Any recommendations?

As long as your RV is less than 30' you can stay at Devils Garden. http://www.nps.gov/arch/planyourvisit/camping.htm
It is quite close to the trail head for Landscape Arch. |
Thank you, Tom, for your reply. Our RV is 34'. Any other ideas? We are very much looking forward to visiting Arches!

You won't be able to stay in Arches then.
Check out Deadhorse Point, Canyonlands, and Goblin Valley Campgrounds. I would really enjoy camping in Goblin Valley. These all have better views than Arches campground anyway, IMOP. |
There is a nice grassy campground along the river in the town of Green River.

Stephandblake,
The difficulty with traveling by larger RV in Arches is that, yes parking is limited. If you are not towing a smaller car for sightseeing, you will have problems seeing the park. There is no shuttle in Arches like in Zion. It would be nice if there was! There are a couple of companies that do tours out of Moab, but I am not sure if they offer a "basic" tour of just the park. They do tours of off-road areas, the rivers, very remote locations. |
Can an RV even make that first turn up the hill? Those two first switchbacks have to prohibit some of the longer vehicles.
