Dear Utahtea,
Thank goodness! I was hoping you were not going to say 45 degrees (one horrendous Turkish holiday - long story wont go down that route).
37 degrees I can handle. I am originally from Australia so whilst I may have to suffer with the horrendous weather here in the UK, I do long for it to heat up. 37 - yippee. (I may retract that later when I am whining and carrying on like a child because I cannot get cool and the air con is not sufficiently cold and I cannot get my glass of chardonnay cold enough).
As for the tag along, well I think you deserve it after all your hard work...!!!

Oh, I forgot. If you are going to be going to that many national parks, you will probably be better off buying the National Park pass for $50. https://buy.nationalparks.org/default.asp?ref=nps
It's good for one full year from date of purchase and it will get you into all the National Parks, National Monuments, National Recreational areas. It won't get you into Monument Valley because it's a tribal park.
As of May 1, 2006 the entrance fees to Yellowstone and Grand Canyon will be $25.00 each so you will save money if you go to Mesa Verde, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Glen Canyon National Recreational area or Zion.
