RV recommandation
HI, I would appriciate your help.
Our family would like to rent an RV (30 ft) in Vegas for one week Do you have an idea about the following rentals: Road bear Cruise america Did someone had an experience (good or bad) with them ? It is very important for us to find a good RV. Thanks |
My brother rented from CruiseAmerica and loved it. Be sure this is what you want to do, given the current gas situation.

This will be much better answered if you go to www.rv.net

FYI - the 2005 Entertainment Book has a Cruise America coupon, but I'm not sure if the 2006 book does yet.

Are you really sure you want to do this. Some of the road to various destinations outside of Las Vegas would be difficult to drive if one were unfamiliar with driving an RV. Also, make sure you price it - we looked into doing this and found staying at less expensive hotels was actually cheaper than renting an RV. And if you are planning to do Bryce, Zion or other National Parks, do you really want to drive this thing while you are touring?
Not an RV basher - we are even considering buying one. But make sure you have considered all possibilities before you do this. |
We rented from Cruise America a couple of years ago and enjoyed it, but we were not in Vegas. Spent four or five days driving around two states. I'm guessing the quality of your experience might depend a lot on your dealer - we found a mom and pop dealership that was honest and took pride in keeping their RVs in good, clean, safe shape. My only irritation with the RV itself was that it squeaked a lot on rough roads and was noisy. You need to do some planning before you go - figure out what you (honestly)can and can't fit, maybe plan some meals. We tried to go on some tiny back roads that were just too rough/small and ended up adjusting our route, learning quickly. Do your reseach - we also thought about renting to go to some national parks in the northwest, but, with reseach, learned that some older parks can't accomodate the big, newer RVs. We saved ourselves grief by reading and planning ahead. We'll do it again sometime when gas isn't so awfully high. Hope you have fun!

Thank you all for your help.
We have a lovely experience with the 30 feet RV. Last year we have been in Alaska and BC -it was great. I don't know how are the roads in the area of LAS and it might be cheaper to rent a regular car, but we love the atmosphere of the RV. I think that we'll try the ROad Bear company because they have newer RV's than Cruiseamerica |
