RV Parks in Homer and Seward??
 

I would love to have recommendations for the best RV parks -view, wildlife, etc. in Homer and Seward. Do you recommend reservations for the last of August - first of September?

In Sewarrd you will want to stay in the RV park that sits right on shore over looking Resurrection Bay and the mountains.

It's a large park and there are always some spaces available--even right on the shore if you get there by mid day. It's not hard to move to an better spot-- spaces aren't assigned.

This is pretty much just a parking lot but most campgrounds we saw in Alaska were like that. The views make up for it.

The Seward Park is the city park. Only section with elctricity and water hook-ups is just before the shower house. I think it was about $20 a night. Beautiful view. Don't know if they take reservations but you could call the Chamber of Commerce. In Homer go to the End of the Spit RV park. $25 a night. Call and see if you need reservations then, we didn't in May.

Cooper Landing, Russian River, Willawaw by Portage Glacier, Hope all are state campgrounds ($10. night)with pretty wooded sites. Cooper Landing and Hope take reservations, don't know about the other two.

Russian River National Forest c.g. at Cooper Landing was the best campground we saw but we prefer state park type c.g.'s vs. luxury resort type campgrounds. This is the place to be if you want to do some salmon fishing.

They do take reservations and I highly recommend them. It's a very popular campground.
