Rte 28 train station...Boston
 

I want to go into Boston overnight (Sat) from Foxboro. Is there overnight parking at the Rt 28 train station? Is there a garage?
What is the fare on the T? I'll be going to the Aquarium area of Boston.

www.mbta.com should give you the info you need on parking at the train station...most do have parking. The fare on the T is $1.25 per token. I usually buy at least two at a time, that way when you're in a rush to make the home-bound train you don't have to wait in line!

HI--if you are referring the 128 station in Norwood, then yes, there is overnight--and multiple day--parking. That is a major Amtrak station where people park when taking the train to NYC.
Re:the train (MBTA) fare from there into Boston, not sure. That is a commuter rail line and not the regular "T"--therefore a different fare structure. However, the MBTA has a useful website you could consult.

The parking garage for the Route 128 stop is actually in Westwood. The garage is so huge, it's probably the only one in Greater Boston that never fills up. As mentioned above, it has plenty of accommodations for long-term parking.

The subway doesn't go out that far -- you'll have to check the commuter rail schedules for the Providence/Attleboro line at www.mbta.com. While you're at it, check out the stations that are closer to you.

Get off the train at Back Bay station (don't go all the way to South Station), then take the subway's Orange Line to State Street. Depending on your specific destination, you can either walk from State Street or transfer and take the Blue Line to Aquarium.

I've walked between the Aquarium and South Station where the Amtrak terminates with luggage, so you don't have to use the T if you are in reasonable shape.

However, it's Amtrak that I would argue against using if you can find a MBTA commuter rail station you can use -- the fare should be considerably lower than Amtrak.

rb_traveler, Back Bay and South Stations are the last 2 stops on that Commuter Rail trip, too.

Certainly, there's no reason to take Amtrak from Route 128 into Boston. You probably can't even buy a ticket for that (IIRC, the conductors don't even strat collecting tickets for the Boston-NYC run until they're past Rte 128; technically, tall 3 are Boston stops, with the same fares to various destinations).

MBTA.com has a trip planning function where you can enter starting address, destination, and they will tell you how to get there. I tried to do it for your trip, but they need street address.

The mbta site, as mentioned above, can also then give you info on parking, etc. There might even be mbta bus service from Foxboro - but you can check that out as well.
