Royalton, Mondrian Soho, or Morgan Hotel in NYC?

Hello!

If money is not an issue, which of these three hotels would you stay at? I go to NYC a few times a year, so I am concerned about being close to tourist stuff. I just want the best hotel overall -- staff, room, amenities, etc. (A friend is getting me a special rate for these hotels.)

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean you are NOT concerned about being near tourist stuff? I'd try the Mondrian Soho if you haven't stayed downtown. It's the newest and the trendiest of the 3. The other 2 are in midtown, the Royalton on the west side within walking distance of theaters and Morgans on the east side in Murray Hill, not far from Grand Central. You might like looking at photos on oyster.com

We stayed at the Royalton.
It was fine, but our room was small.

I found the staff at Morgans to be condescending.

Check out hotel photos of all 3 of these hotels on oyster.com. That might help you decide.

Yes, I meant that I am not concerned about being near tourist stuff. The rooms at the Royalton appear larger and they provide an Ipad. However, the Mondrian does look very nice. The Morgan is out of the running. Such a tough decision. Anyone else want to weigh in?

The Sofitel is the best hotel on Royalton's block, imo, but it's not on your list. The Royalton has a buzzy lobby bar, dark and atmospheric.

If you don't plan on doing anything midtown, than stay at the Mondrian. It's a nice hotel. If you are planning to go to the theatre, then stay midtown at the Royalton. How much time are you planning to stay in the room, anyway? Choose by convenience at this point.

cindymal, that link strangely brings you to a Marriott website.
