Royal Pacific Resort

Is this a good place to stay in UniversalStudio?

I have stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort three times. It is a lovely resort. Nice restaurants, including Emeril's Tchoup Chop, great pool and best of all, if you go to the parks, you will have Front-of-the Line privileges by showing your room key. It is fantastic.

We just stayed there in January and LOVED it! We liked it better than the WDW resorts - the service was excellent, the rooms gorgeous, food good and very short distance to the parks. We can't wait to stay again!

We just stayed there a few weeks ago and found it to be horrible. Our room was very small and had stains on the carpet. It was hard to even open the ironing board because the room was so cramped. They couldnt move us because they were full with a convention.
We had a drink at the lobby bar and had pretty lousy service. I wasn't even finished with my glass of wine when the server (named cinnamon, I kid you not) took it and didn't ask if we wanted a 2nd round. She was more interested in flirting and dancing with her co-workers behind the bar.
We had one meal in the basic dining room and it was ok. Food was a bit cold but not bad. We tried Emerils and were not at all impressed. Very over priced and they really rushed us throught the meal. Didn't even ask us if we wanted coffee or dessert.
The last night we went over to Portifino Bay (another hotel in the Loews group and very close to Pacific Royal) and had a wonderful meal at Bice. We looked around after we were done and decided if we ever go back, thats were we would stay. We have stayed at Loews Hotels numerous times over the years and this one just didn't live up to what we have experienced in the past.

I love this hotel! Stayed there and had a wonderful time!

My experience was opposite NoName's.

I stayed at the RP last October for 12 days. I loved it and thought it an extremely well run hotel, even under trying circumstances.

live in SW Florida and when H Wilma started heading my way, I headed out. I have a pup and kitty so I quickly booked myself into the Royal Pacific hotel in Orlando. Loews allows pets with few restrictions at all its resorts.

The hotel was gorgeous. Just walking across the bamboo bridge to the lobby told me that this was going to be a a less stressful evacuation. The lobby was full of dogs! It was quite the visual. Dogs of all sizes. I will not comment on the room I had as I assume that all dog owners are placed in a sort of hotel Siberia (near the specially outfitted dog park area). They had over 300 dogs at one point so it was actually hilarious.

I did not suffer when it came to food. Tchoup Chop is the main hotel restaurant and while I think the food is still way over salted, it was nice to sit at the food bar facing the kitchen and enjoy a nice meal.

Loews even provides dishes, food and amenities for your little pals. Doggie room service is a wee bit pricey, but if you somehow can't bring you own food, they are there to help.

I spent one day at the pool having some scarey green drink and reading Elmore Leonard and even went to a hurricane party at Jimmy Buffet's restaurant at City Walk, which was a short boatride from the hotel.

Mediocre spa at the Portofino resort which was another boatride away, and perhaps the worst pedicure I've had in ages. Still, it wasn't particularly expensive and I felt it primarily served convention guests.

Pups were allowed throughout the lobby and in the outdoor restaurant. My particular pooch is not well suited to staying in place so I didn't foist her on the other diners but it was cute to see them all lounging at their owners feet hoping for something to drop.

I would definitely come here again, hurricane or no. LMF

GREAT place to stay!

Another thing to add was it felt like the rooms really needed updating (we peeked in teh doorway as the maids were cleaning some rooms) To the point I thought the hotel was several years old but I found out it was one of the newer hotels. It is also the largest hotel of the Loews Orlando group so things were very spread out. It almost had a feeling of an old Vegas hotel. I was also surprised they didn't have a spa on site. You could take a shuttle to one of the other hotels for that purpose.

I 100% disagree with no name - I found the room very updated and couldn't stop raving about it - I would even love that design for home and I saw other rooms and thought they looked great as well.

I am another fan of the Royal Pacific. In fact it's hard to imagine that no name stayed at the same hotel. As far as Tchoup Chop goes, NO WAY did they make us feel rushed. They made us feel like we were the only people there ...and the place was full). Fantastic service and food.
The hotel and it's surroundings are beautiful. It's just a short walk to the parks or you can take the water taxi.
