Rouge or Topaz in D.C.?
Which is better? Which is a better location (I realize they are close to each other). Any insight? I'm taking my husband for a weekend in September. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think they have the same prices, so it probably depends on your personal taste as to style. YOu probably know from reviews or wherever you read about them what their respective styles are, if not, you can find a lot online. I think the Topaz has a slightly better location as it's about one block closer to the Dupont Circle metro. However, I would choose the Rouge as I prefer its style (Topaz is some new-agey style/ambience (I think you get your daily horoscope as an amenity -- really, how 1970!, Rouge is more NY modern/hip--well both are that) and from what I've read, it has a better bar and its bar is more laid-back and comfortable atmosphere than the Topaz. So, it may depend on which style fits you and whether you even want to go to the bar.

??? and what?-
If you knew what they were...you wouldn't have to ask those types of questions. Why do people feel the need to add to threads when they obviously have no clue what the post is about?

Anyhow, Michelle, my husband has stayed at the Rouge for business before, and he still raves about it. Can't wait to take me along the next time he has to be in D.C.

Definitely Rouge. Much better hotel bar than the Topaz.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I booked a king room at the Rouge for 2 nights, at a TOTAL cost of $250. I think I got a pretty good deal!
Thanks again!

Hey Michelle,

Write back and let us know how it was. I was going to recommend Topaz myself but that only because I haven't spent time in Rouge.
