Room for six in NYC?
On our last trip to NYC we stayed at the Beacon, in a 2-bedroom suite that could accomodate 2 adults and 4 kids. It was great, but expensive. We're looking for other hotels that could accomodate all six. Any ideas? BTW, we're looking at late April.

What do you call expensive?

Try calling (800) ME-SUITE

Expensive like around $475. Myabe that's not too bad for a suite.

Have you considered a "regular" room that has a door that adjoins to one next door? The door could be left open to keep an eye on the children, and would kind of make your room a "suite". You would have to make some calls to see if this type of room was available. We had 2 adjoining rooms overlooking 42nd St. at the Hyatt that we booked through Priceline at $75/per room per night, BUT Priceline does not let you choose room type.

Would you consider 2 adjoing rooms?

There's an Embassy Suites in the Financial district. Depending on how big your kids are, and how cramped you're willing to be, it could work.
|
Adjoining rooms would work, I think. A couple years ago, however, not one of the hotels I called would guarantee adjoining rooms.

To echo S, try the Manhattan East Suite Hotels. The have about 10 really nice hotels and all the rooms are suites with kitchens reasonably priced.

Agree with the above posters about Manhattan East Suites - www.mesuite.com or 1-800-MESUITE. We stayed at the Dumont and Southgate last month and thought both were fine, with the Dumont maybe a bit better located.
