Rome with family

I would like to have suggestion on were to stay in Rome with my family. I'm looking for a cheap accommodation. Any suggestion?

First, it might have been better to post this question in the Europe forum tagged for Italy than post it in the US. We have used the Aberdeen, Sonya, and Contilla -- all three stars and near Termini. We prefer the Sonya as we think the breakfast is slightly better.

This is something odd going on with the OP, James. Over on the Europe site has posted a bunch of recommendations for apartments and hotels in Rome. Now over here asking for Rome info. I suspect some buzz marketing going on. And this was his second posting.

Well, there is a Rome, NY... just outside Utica. ;)

If we take this post at face value then we should assume james891 means Rome, NY.

There are several low end chain hotels in the area - Econolodge, Red Carpet Inn, Ramada. I believe all of them are old, dated properties. Your best bet is to check tripadvisor for more recent reviews.

???? Cant I ask information on the web??? Probably someone has other suggestion wich i do not know. Your marketing point of view isn't clear. fmpden thank you for have ruined my discussion by alerting other users for buzz without no reason. Any way thank you qwovadis, divinemissm

P.S. I made a mistake posting this in the US

Hi James891, FYI you can always ask the Editors to help you with changing a post if you've made a mistake: they can either move it to a different forum for you or remove it altogether. Just click the yellow triangle/exclamation point icon at the top of the post, or send an email to [email protected]. They're very helpful.

In any case, you should still provide the number of people in your family, when you plan on going and your budget in $s.

If it's Rome, Italy, then rooms for more than 2 people are less common than they are in the states. Also price varies much by season, and "cheap" means different things to different people.
