Can anyone recommend a nice resort spa in the tahoe area for a honeymoon?

Probably the best is the Resort at Squaw Creek. It is in Squaw Valley, not on the Lake. But it is only a few minutes from Tahoe City and is convenient to everywhere in the Tahoe Basin, Truckee, Reno and anywhere else.

The amenities are world class.

I stayed at Squaw Creek several months ago for a business meeting. It's a great resort and I regretted that I had to "work" while I was there!The spa was great and a few of us got massages and facials - nice spa!
I think that you do need a car while there because you really are removed from everything!

this place sounds great. anyone know how far of a drive to the lake?

It is about 5 miles from Squaw Valley to the Hwy junction at Tahoe City. Tahoe City is at the NE corner of the Lake and you can get to anywhere on the lake from there.
