Romantic restaurants in Los Angeles & Vegas ...

Any suggestions for fabulous and/or romantic restaurants in LA and Vegas to dine at whilst on my honeymoon. I will be travelling from the other side of The Atlantic.

In Vegas I would recommend Delmonico's at the Venetian. It's one of Emeril's restaurants and specializes in steaks. We found it to be romantic and classy and quiet! Other places we enjoyed during one of our stays was Aqua at Bellagio (seafood) and as somebody else mentioned Picasso at Bellagio. There are lots of great restaurants in Vegas to choose from. Have a great dining experience!
Cheers,
Tracey

Far too many great and/or romantic restaurants in the greater LA area. You have to be more specific:

-- Cuisine?

-- Location? The greater LA area, including Orange County, is huge (larger than many countries).

-- Price range?

If price is absolutely no object, Bastide in West Hollywood. French, off the chain indulgent, romantic, wonderful, shockingly expensive.

Koi in WeHo is another stylish choice. Vietnamese-leaning Asian fusion cuisine, outstanding food, expensive, gorgeous room.

Studio, at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, is another foodies' choice. If you're down in Orange County. Again, great room, awesome food, expensive.

Michael's in Santa Monica was one of the eateries that invented California Cuisine in the 1980s, and it's still great. Capo, not too far away, is a "secret" gem-- Italian, lovely room, great food, expensive. Gets a few celebs. Joe's, down in Venice Beach, has a regular celebrity clientèle-- and deservedly so; another place with wonderful food.

I mean, I could send you any number of places for great meals in the greater LA area. I guess I should ask: Where will you be staying?

I'm staying at the Hotel Bel Air but I am always willing to travel far for a wonderful restaurant.

In Vegas, I'd opt for Le Cirque over Picasso. I found the service at the former to be significantly better than at Picasso. At both, prepare to pay a small fortune.

The restaurant at the Getty Center is open on Friday and Saturday evenings. Highly recommended only-in-LA experience.

(The cafe at the Getty is also pretty good and is open for lunch).

You won't have to travel far at all! One of the most beautiful and romantic places to have dinner in LA is in the garden of the Bel Air Hotel overlooking the lake. Say hello to the swans. The food and service are also excellent.
