Romantic getaway in the Southeast?

My husband and I would like to get away for a long weekend in October. We live in Atlanta and would like something within a 6 hour drive. We were thinking of trying something in the NC or TN mountain areas. Our preference would be something close to good hiking and biking with upscale accommodations and good food/ wine. Ideally, we would have a private outdoor hot tub. We tried Blackberry Farm and their sister property Dancing Bear but both are booked. I would prefer not to do a B&B as I was looking for a little more privacy.

I know I am being picky but the perfect place might just be out there right?! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Look into Asheville, NC. Wonderful, eclectic shops and restaurants, plus the entire Biltmore Mansion experience. Look at VRBO for private rentals http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals...ains/asheville

If not there, on the other side of the Smokies is Gatlinburg, TN. A little more touristy, but some very luxurious rental "cabins." And some fine dining as well. Look at Timber Tops rentals http://www.yourcabin.com/

YOu could also stay at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. It's a fabulous hotel in a great location.

I would suggest The Swag www.theswag.com. They have what you are looking for except you have to take your own wine. We went for our third trip in July and loved it. The property is adjacent to the National Park so there is no need to get in your car again once you arrive (no biking though). Short hikes or long hikes are available with spectacular views.

We stayed in this cute little cabin outside of Gatlinburg in the Smokies. Hiking, sightseeing and good restaurants nearby. Hot tub outside. Take a look.

Thank you for the great suggestions. I am sorry for the posting the question twice. I am new to the boards and my intention was to post it to the NC and TN sections. I didn't realize it was just a duplicate post.
