Romantic getaway in Northern California

I am looking for a 2-3 day romantic getaway in May this year for our anniversary in Northern California. We stay in the bay area and would like to go somewhere within 2-3 hour driving distance. We've already been to Napa, Big Sur, Carmel and Point Reyes. Looking for some new place to go to.. Any recommendations for places and maybe specific hotels / b&Bs / cottages where we could just relax in a room with a view and have spa / massage options? Budget is $200-300 per night.

Thanks in advance,
Vandy

Hello Vandy, here is an article about Pismo Beach http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...=travelbayarea

I don't know if that would appeal to you but just one thought. Happy Anniversary!!

One of our very favorite places is a little town of Elk, just above Gualala.
This is a qauint town, with spectacular ocean views. A great place is the Elk Cove Inn. www.elkcoveinn.com.
There are also other places in Elk for every budget.
Happy Anniversary.

Dear Vandy:

What about Grass Valley or Nevada City? I haven't been in a while but there are many charming B&B's. Check it out.

Thanks for the suggestions. Mendocino area will be little far for us. (we've been to Mendocino before). Any suggestions for Sonoma County? What do you think of Bodega Bay?

The Sonoma Mission Inn in Boyes Hot Sprinmgs is one of my favorite places in Sonoma.

The Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa is also very nice, we stayed in the Trumpeter Swan Suite with a fireplace, king bed, turndown service with truffles, robes, jacuzzi tub and nice patio area for relaxing. They also have a great restaurant, the Duck Club where we enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Fine place! ***kim***
