Romantic Evening - Las Vegas
 

Can you recommend a memorable, romantic evening in Las Vegas. Two thoughts I had are 1) Go to Paris Hotel to climb the Eiffel Tower and have dinner at their restaurant; or 2) Go to the Venetian, take a gondola ride and have dinner at their restaurant. Would love your thoughts and suggestions!!! Thanks!

Both places sound fine although they are not too private especially the gondola ride (lots of onlookers plus a long line before you take the 10 minute ride) <BR> <BR>I loved dinner at the Stratosphere the most, it was quiet, private, and romantic. Plus the food was wonderful.

I second the Stratosphere. It is pricey, <BR>but the service,food and view was outstanding!The restaurant revolves 360 degrees in one hour.I dare you to take your eyes off the view and gaze into each others.

The Venetian gondola ride is more hokey than romantic. The Eiffel tower gets too packed unless you go very late at night. Stratosphere it should be

Picasso at the Bellagio. Request a table by the window so you can also watch the fountain show.

Not to burst your bubble, but the gondola ride is a pain & not worth the money. They are usually booked up an hour or two in advance, the ride is 10 minutes tops! The restaurant at the top of the Eiffel tower is good, but it is very, very expensive (I am from NYC & think it is overpriced!) and you will come away hungary. The Picasso is an excellent choice. Getting his & hers massages at one of the spas might be another. Actually, taking a bottle of wine to the front of the Bellagio to watch the fountains is about as romantic as it gets. Other suggestions: there is a steak & seafood restaurant in the Mirage-so sorry I forgot the name! in the atrium. great food, great service beautiful surroundings. There are several restaurants at Mandalay Bay that are also very beautiful and romantic.

While you're in Las Vegas, pop into the Mexican restaurant at the Venetian for an inexpensive taco plate and watch the gondolas go by. You get the experience of being serenaded without the cost or hassle of standing in line. Just make sure to ask for a table near the canal.

Ellen, your suggestions were very good. I think the restaurant you're referring to is Kokomo's. The tropical atmosphere is great also the prime rib is wonderful. My boyfriend really enjoyed the lobster. We'll be back in Vegas in July so I'll definitely take up your suggestion on wine in front of the Bellagio since that's where we'll be staying. Here's my suggestion, what about dinner at the restaurant at the top of the Rio? The view is great especially at sunset.

Kokomos! Correct. We enjoyed it so much. And, they got us in and out in time to see Danny Gans without rushing us a bit. Don't know about the Rio, never ate there. You might also try a 'Coney Island' night. Roller coaster at NY NY, followed by a Nathan's dog (or Gallagher's steakhouse, but not the same effect). Then head to the piano lounge to listen to some great jazz.

Picasso at the Bellagio is, indeed, a memorable, romantic evening. Go for it!

I vote for dinner atop the Rio on the 50th floor. The restaurant is Voodoo Cafe. It's very good and a lot of its specialties are Creole or Cajun, but they have a wide array of food, very good desserts, excellent, very fun drinks (a menu of 50 or so exotic patented drinks that as of yet I've never seen anywhere else) and just all around great atmosphere and after dinner you can go out on the balcony and overlook the entire strip, as you're about a half mile off the beaten path. Awesome view! They have a lounge there too upstairs. Although I've never been to the Paris Eiffel tower, I'll bet you can get the same, if not better ambience in the Voodoo Cafe (it's an elegant restaurant -- not really a cafe) <BR>It's very dark, with interesting decor. <BR>

Picasso at the Bellagio is great. DON'T do Le Cirque -- just not worth it. See Danny Gans' show and then go to Onda (Todd English's "other" restaurant) at the Mirage would also be another memorable evening. Postrio at the Venetian is also good.
