What would you recommend for a special occasion romantic dinner?
82 Queen?
Penninsula Grill?
magnolias?
Also romantic inns?

Penninsula Grill is the greatest!!! My family was in Charleston last month and we had the distinct pleasure of eating there; it was incredible. The food, the service, and that beautiful room! All were impeccable. My very hard to please father said it rivaled LeCirque 2000 in NYC.

I second the recommendation for the Peninsula Grill. Atmosphere and food are amazing (make sure to save room for the coconut cake!).
Avoid Magnolia's. They are surviving on a good reputation, which is no longer accurate. Mediocre food, indifferent staff.

I agree with the above recs for the Penninsula Grille. Agree to avoid Magnolias - very indifferent staff! Same with 82 Queen. We had a great meal at the Charleston Grill.

another vote for Peninsula Grill (be sure to make reservations). we enjoyed our stay at governor's house inn, owned by the daughter of the folks who own two meeting street.
I would definitely choose Charleston Grill over Peninsula. Maybe it was just our bad table at Peninsula but I thought the atmosphere was much more romantic at Charleston Grill. Also agree that Magnolia's is over-rated but loved their other restaurant Blossom Cafe for lunch!
